The Japan Tribology Conference Spring Tokyo 2025, hosted by the Japanese Society of Tribologists (JAST), concluded successfully from May 26 to May 28 at the National Olympic Memorial Youth Center in Tokyo. The conference attracted over 900 participants from academia, research institutions, and industry, reflecting the continued significance of tribology research and its industrial applications in Japan and globally.
NTI Nanofilm participated in the conference’s Corporate Technology & Product Exhibition Corner, where companies presented the latest developments in tribology-related technologies and solutions. NTI Nanofilm showcased its proprietary Filtered Cathodic Vacuum Arc (FCVA) coating technologies, emphasizing solutions for frictional wear and surface durability, key topics that remain central to tribology research and industrial demand.
Throughout the exhibition, NTI Nanofilm presented how its FCVA-based coating solutions are applied to address tribological challenges across a variety of automotive and industrial components, including piston rings, gears, powertrain parts, and precision bearings. Visitors showed strong interest in wear resistance, friction reduction, and surface performance, especially as these challenges directly impact efficiency, durability, and sustainability in next-generation mobility and manufacturing systems.
In addition to the exhibition, NTI Nanofilm also contributed to technical workshops and committee sessions during the conference. These sessions provided a platform for in-depth discussions around emerging tribological challenges, collaborative research opportunities, and the evolving role of surface engineering in addressing real-world application needs.
The Japan Tribology Conference continues to serve as one of the region’s key platforms for fostering dialogue between academia and industry. NTI Nanofilm’s participation reflects its ongoing commitment to advancing tribology knowledge and its application in both research and commercial industries, particularly within the automotive and advanced manufacturing sectors.
The Japan Tribology Conference Spring Tokyo 2025 once again highlighted the essential role of interdisciplinary collaboration in driving tribological innovation forward, from academic breakthroughs to applied industrial solutions.
