Ultra thick coating (~35 micro) Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (taC) for Diesel Engine Piston Rings

Commercialization starts

In Oct of 2018, Nanofilm successfully developed ultra-thick coating (thickness is ~35 micro) for application in piston rings of Diesel engine. The basic structure of the coating consists of hydrogen-free taC with excellent anti-wear performance and low friction, it will extend the lifespan of the piston ring and decline the fuel consumption for the diesel engine.
