Director – R&D

• Participate in formulating the company's technology roadmap and product strategy to ensure technological foresight and market competitiveness.
• Assist the Deputy General Manager in developing R&D strategic plans, promote implementation, and stay abreast of industry cutting-edge technology trends.
• Establish an end-to-end NPI (New Product Introduction) process, formulate technical standards and quality specifications, and continuously optimize the R&D process system.
• Lead key NPI milestone reviews, provide support for technical decision-making, and ensure efficient project advancement.
• Oversee full project lifecycle management, including requirements analysis, solution design, technical problem-solving, and commercialization, controlling cost, timeline and risk.
• Lead major technical issue resolution, drive successful product commercialization, supervise process optimization projects to improve product quality and production efficiency.
• Responsible for the transition of projects from the NPI phase into mass production. Collaborate with Operations, QA and other departments to resolve issues during the transition, ensuring the smooth handover and continuously optimizing production yield and efficiency.
• Build a high-performance R&D team, recruit and develop key technical talent, and establish a tiered talent structure.
• Assign tasks, guide team efforts, provide necessary support, and motivate team members to achieve goals.
• Collaborate with Business, QA, Operations and other departments to ensure the smooth implementation of technology R&D and operations.
• Participate in new product market promotion, providing technical support; coordinate external resources to drive technical cooperation and exchange
• Possess customer-facing capabilities, able to communicate effectively with customers, understand their needs, and drive solution implementation.
• Engage with global customers and supply chain partners, providing technical solutions and participating in key business negotiations.

• Bachelor's degree or above in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related fields.
• 10+ years of experience in the 3C industry or PVD coating related field, with at least 5 years of R&D team management experience.
• Experience in the Apple supply chain is preferred. Experience in managing global teams is preferred.
• Proficient in end-to-end NPI processes, capable of driving the establishment and improvement of the R&D process system.
• Excellent project management skills, able to coordinate multiple resources and drive full project lifecycle management.
• Possess strategic planning and execution capabilities, familiar with industry technology trends to ensure technological foresight.
• Excellent team establishing and management skills, capable of establishing a high-performance R&D team and leading it to achieve goals.
• Excellent decision-making, resilience under pressure, and cross-departmental collaboration skills.
• Fluent in English, capable of using it as a working language, with the ability to communicate effectively with overseas teams or customers.
